Some breeds that typically don't need long walks include bulldogs, pugs, French bulldogs, and Basset hounds.🐶 As brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds, they can have trouble breathing with extensive exercise due to their short snouts. Toy breeds like Chihuahuas also tend to have smaller stamina. However, all dogs still need mental stimulation and time outside every day. Even lower🐕 energy breeds will benefit from short 10-15 minute walks or play sessions in the yard to relieve themselves. Be sure to accommodate your dog's individual needs based on its breed traits and discuss any concerns with your vet. 👩⚕️
It is generally recommended that you walk your dog at least twice a day. 🐕🦺Puppies and younger dogs may need to go out more often, such as every 4-6 hours. The amount of exercise each dog needs can vary depending on its size, energy level, and age. Short walks of 15-30 minutes one or two times a day are sufficient for most adult dogs. 📖Be sure to check with your veterinarian if you have any questions about how much exercise is appropriate for your specific dog.
